At the southeastern foot of the Ore Mountains, just a few kilometres from the spa town of Teplice, you will find the town of Krupka with a rich mining past. It has almost 13,000 inhabitants and consists of eleven formerly independent municipalities: Krupka, Bohosudov, Vrchoslav, Maršov, Unčín, Soběchleby, Nové Modlany and the mountain town of Fojtovice,
Habartice, Mohelnice and Horní Krupka.

The origin and fame of the original mining town are linked to the extraction of tin ore and its further processing. The slopes of the mountains still hide numerous mine workings and adits. Since 2019, the mining landscape of Krupka has even been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Erzgebirge / Erzgebirge Mining Region.

Krupka is a city of monuments, with 35 cultural monuments and one national cultural monument, the monumental Baroque Basilica of Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows.

The castle is one of the oldest places in mining Krupka. It was built at the beginning of the 14th century as a guard fortress to protect the tin mines and the trade route to Saxony. It used to be the seat of the von Kolditz family from Meissen. During their reign, tournaments were held at the castle, craftsmen settled in the town, a brewery and churches were built and markets were held. The dissolute life of the last of the Kolditz family, Těma V., led to the sale of the estate and the decline of the manor.

The owners of Krupka changed frequently and did not live in the desolate castle. The Thirty Years’ War completed its destruction. Krupka Castle regained its lost fame in the 19th century with the development of tourism. The building of the mining office from the end of the 17th century was converted into a posh excursion inn, which was visited by many famous and important people.

There was an emperor, a king, a prince, a poet, a painter and a polar explorer. The grounds of Krupka Castle are entered in style through two medieval gates, with benches in the garden and an observation tower that offers spectacular views in all directions.

Ubytování je v nádherném - kouzelném prostředí s překrásným výhledem do širokého okolí. Všude je čisto, ticho, pokoje dostatečně velké. Parkování na nádvoří hradu, velkou výhodou je i možnost vzít s sebou pejska (do uvedené velikosti). Autem se dá vyjet… Show more až na parkoviště u Komáří vížky a odtud je možnost různě dlouhých výletů. Není zde možnost vaření, ale v blízkém okolí je spousta míst, kam si můžete na jídlo zajet nebo si ho nechat doručit (prostory, kde si jídlo můžete sníst, zde jsou). Ideální místo pro pořádání firemních večírků nebo různých oslav, včetně svatebních hostin (kuchyň lze pronajmout). Určitě se na toto kouzelné místo budu velmi ráda vracet a všem doporučuji se tam podívat / ubytovat.

Toto ubytování mohu opravdu jen a jen doporučit! Kouzelné romantické místo. Krásná vyhlídka která obměkčí každou ženu. Pan správce opravdu milý a vstřícný. Prostředí a okolí hradu moc hezké. V okolí mnoho možností trávení času a spousta možností na výlet.
